comments:  The acacia tree from which this vase emerged was headed for fireplace or dump, victim of a local street widening project. As is often the case  with works from rescued roadside wood, this one also has its share of small cracks, knots and insect bore holes. The result is a sturdy  and honest, informal and easy-going vessel that will complement almost any fresh flower or dry arrangement one cares to entrust to it. Its warm color and  prominent, variable grain pattern are a pleasure to contemplate. The well, 1" in diameter and 5" deep, is copper-lined and water safe.
